Your money is held securely in escrow — released to the contractor only when you confirm the work is done.
When do I pay?
You pay into escrow when you accept a contractor's quote — before work begins. The funds are held securely and no one can access them until you release them.
When does the contractor receive payment?
Only after you confirm that the work is complete and you're satisfied. The contractor can see that funds are committed, which gives them confidence to start work.
What if something goes wrong?
You can raise a dispute before releasing payment. Our team reviews the situation and mediates between you and the contractor. The funds remain frozen until the dispute is resolved.
What if the contractor doesn't show up?
If the contractor doesn't show, you do not release payment. We investigate, apply a permanent penalty to their Reliability Score, and you can choose a different contractor.
Is my payment information secure?
All payments are processed by Stripe, which is used by millions of businesses worldwide and is PCI DSS compliant. Keikkio never sees or stores your card details.
Are there any fees for homeowners?
No fees for homeowners. Posting a job and paying through escrow is completely free. Keikkio charges contractors a small fee when they win a job.
